Residents of summer flowers

Residents of summer flowers vary from tiny aphid to giant butterfly. Nearly all summer flowers have at least marks of residents like spider webs or honeydew secreted by aphids. Next time you see a wild summer flower get a closer look and you will be surprised what you can find in a flower!

Summer flowers connected with spider webs

I love misty mornings. One really nice thing in mist is spider webs which are visible because of the moist. I have posted earlier Do you like spider webs? in which you can see beautiful spider webs crafted by the spiders.

These photos are photographed in the same morning as my photos in my previous post but instead of webs I was focusing in the flower.

Did you know that Creeping Thistle is really tasty? In case you are interested in eating it here is a link to a Finnish site where you can find more how to prepare tasty meal from Creeping thistle.

Summer flowers are home for insects, ants and spiders

There is so much life inside a flower as I realized while I was photographing Red-throated loons in Karnaistenkorpi. While waiting the birds to approach me I noticed Cow parsley growing by the pond. At first glance I saw the flower. When checking the photo I realized some black blob under the flower. Closer look showed that there was a spider waiting for the next lunch. Third look and I detected two ants in the flower.

Summer flowers have numerous residents and it is interesting to follow what is going on in the flowers. As you may have noticed from my photos, instead of details I am focusing on environmental photography as I want to show the flower ecosystem.

Thank you for reading my blog. I hope you have enjoyed my Residents of summer flowers post.
