Mysterious misty lake

Mysterious misty lake was in front of me. The view changed quickly as the sun warmed the air and mist started to disappear. As the mist was getting lighter, more and more details appeared. At that moment the landscape was really fascinating.

Mysterious mist

Summer had just started and lake water was getting warmer. Nights were still cold and one morning mist was formed.

Mist is a phenomenon caused by small droplets of water suspended in air. Physically, it is an example of a dispersion. It is most commonly seen where warm, moist air meets sudden cooling, such as in exhaled air in the winter, or when throwing water onto the hot stove of a sauna. Wikipedia

I started my mysterious misty journey and headed first to the fields where I found tens of spider webs (Do you like spider webs?). On the field were beautiful spider webs, summer flowers and one deer, but now back to the lake.

When I returned back to my cottage, I noticed beautiful blue and white colors and calm water surface on the lake Lohjanjรคrvi. The landscape was mysterious and invited me to take some photos. And so I did even my stomach let me know that I haven’t eaten any breakfast.

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MINNA! (We are the same sign … mine is July 8.) I love these images and fog too. I miss it here in Colorado where it is so dry. We get smoke instead. I especially love the last 3 images and my favorite of favorites is the last … so unique and minimal!

  2. Happy belated birthday, Minna! I’m sorry I missed it! This is a lovely post, I know exactly the feeling to be out on calm waters in fog or daybreak, and seeing it come alive with clarity. Awesome serenity shots!

    1. Thank you Donna! I have to ask what is the diffrence between mist and fog? As I am not English speaking I have been wondering is mist right word. For me fog sounds worse than mist ๐Ÿ˜‚ but may be I am lost with these words. Great day to you Donna๐Ÿ˜Š

      1. Well, that is a great question, Minna! I actually think of them both as a same condition. Hmmmm….but now you have me wondering! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Soooo I found out….. the only difference is how far you can see through them. Fog is thicker/heavier with water droplets so you can only see through it to just over a half-mile (or less than 1,000 meters) away. If you can see much further through it, it’s call mist.

And now we both know, yay! ๐Ÿ˜Š Have a wonderful day too, Minna, happy shooting!
